Acoustic Modems (Telesonar Modems) by Teledyne Benthos Inc. USA.

Telesonar Modems
Teledyne Benthos' Telesonar acoustic telemetry modems, formerly from Datasonics, bring wireless underwater communication to a new level. Developed in cooperation with university and naval researchers, they offer significant improvement in performance and reliability over previously available technology.
Topside Options
The ATM-881 topside modem and ATM-880 modem module serve as the surface components of the bi-directional acoustic communication system. These surface modems, configured with a remote dunking transducer, transmit commands/data to, and receive commands /data from, the sub sea acoustic modem(s) located on a sea floor instrumentation package or AUV.
Transducer Options
Teledyne Benthos offers an array of transducers for integration with our topside and sub sea Telesonar modems. All Telesonar components are capable of operating in one of three standard frequency ranges. Each unit is configured to accepts these transducers in a remote or integral configuration.
Sub sea Options
Teledyne Benthos' sub sea acoustic modems serve as the underwater component of the bi-directional acoustic communication link. Sub sea modems are interfaced with a host instrument or AUV, and acoustically transmit/receive data from the host to the topside acoustic modem. Each sub sea modem is available in a variety of configurations including customer-selected frequency range and integral or remote transducer.
Telesonar PCB's
The ATM-885 / 885R PCB sets are low cost, small, light weight compo-nets for OEM instrumentation use, AUV's, and other applications where power or size limitations preclude the use of the standard ATM-885 Series Acoustic Modems. Teledyne Benthos offers two PCB configurations. |
